SPECIAL WORKSHOP: The Sky meets the Earth FIRE, EARTH, WATER & AIR

130.00

The Sky meets the Earth

FIRE, EARTH, WATER & AIR

October 13th / 2-6pm

After the success of our first collaboration we are delighted to invite you to Kana x Astrology for

Artists second workshop The Sky meets the Earth: FIRE, EARTH, WATER & AIR. An

experimental collaboration where we’ll combine our creative and spiritual practices and create

an inspiring experience for a deeper understanding of ourselves. We’ll work with the four

elements in our astrological charts and, simultaneously, we’ll work with clay.

Clay, too often regarded as the most mundane substances, truly contains the whole of life: Fire,

Earth, Water and Air. We’ll explore the links between the four elements in your personal chart

and the ways in which we express, act, think, feel but – most importantly – the ways we search,

get inspired, create work and live life by working with clay.

We chose the day after the new Moon in Libra as we want to gather and create intentions while

we create from within. The Moon cycle is about change and renewal. On a new Moon we can

commit to a new vision of ourselves. We can open our hearts to receive guidance and

consciously choose to connect with our authentic self and purpose. New Moons are a blank

page from which to say your dreams out loud. It is a great time to set intentions for things you'd

like to create, develop, manifest.

On this new Moon in the sign of Libra we’ll talk about love, relationships, values but what

matters is that you're committing yourself to your own vision, and open to receiving guidance,

healing and support from the Moon.

CLAY WORK / During this two layered workshop we will combine Ana’s work with clay and

Madeleine’s work with the sky while making ceramic vessels and connecting with your sense of

touch. We will work with clay as a tool to observe our surfacing of emotions, characteristics of

our being and challenges of our personality. It is a perfect reflection of our sense of who we are

right now. Recognising those feelings and emotions, we learn and we meet ourselves. It's a

mirror that is so soft that it makes you softer too. It allows you to embrace, it allows you to

observe yourself and embrace again. And most importantly it allow us to apply the change, and

it teaches us how to change. You can slowly confront your challenges, you can stop and start

again. And clay as a forgiving, soft, smooth material will kindly allow you to become who you

want to be a little more or a little less.

First Hour

SKY Madeleine will explain the four elements from an astrological perspective, how our search

for balance is often related to the lack or abundance of one or more elements in our chart, and

how actively adding the missing ingredient can bring us peace, calm and balance.

EARTH We will use handbuilding technique for the first hour of our workshop, to reset, recenter

and arrive. During the process of making ceramic vessels you will be ask to observe your

palette of emotions, your thoughts and feelings, and write them down as we work. You will

create few pieces of work which will be important guidance for the rest of the workshop.

Second Hour

FIRE + EARTH + WATER + AIR

We will look at your personal charts and how your experience with clay is reflected with the

personal amount of Fire, Earth, Water and Air there is in your chart. We will look at what you’ve

written and reflected and see how this connects, translates through your work and your

experience of yourself and your work.

Third Hour

With Madeleine’s guidance and tips based on your personal chart we will approach clay one

more time to create a more mindful piece, made with awareness, gratitude, self observance, self

acceptance, forgiveness, love, softness.

Final Hour

Rituals are a way to mark turning points in our lives. The lunar cycle gives you many chances to

do rituals where you symbolically welcome changes in your life. We will delve into the new Moon

in Libra, create a ritual together and write our own intentions for the new Moon, embracing all

the knowledge and experience from the workshop.
