BODY - Drawing and Sculpture with a Life Nude Model

During first 2 hours, we will work with a life nude model - our Muse.

We will alterate between tapping into darwing and than work with clay to create a 3d croque small sculptures exploring feammle form.

This BODy sessions, are a great introduction to hand sculpting with clay and perfect if you’re a complete beginner –  and if you have some more experience there’s so much to build on. And this Drop In gives you a perfect opportunity to dip in when you feel like returning to the practice. The work never stops evolving.

We can use our muse / BODY as a opportunity to study anatomy and proportions and apply this to our form, or we can dive into abstraction. ( cubism, surrealism, and your own experiment etc)

Last 3rd Hour will be used to prepare our sculpture to be hollowed and ready to be dried and fired.

WHAT TO EXPECT

 We like to keep classes to a minimum, up to 4-6 people per class, to ensure a relaxing and rewarding experience for all.

In this two and a half hour workshop you will be shown three different approaches to observe, though quick drawing, drawing in colour as well as hand-building techniques of sculpting female form.

You are welcome to play and experiment as much as you like within these two hours. Then we ask you to choose your favourite two pieces in clay for us to process for you. We will fire pieces and can leave them in natural colour of the fireed clay or glaze your pieces in our Snow White dipping glaze and fire everything for you. You can keep as many drawings as you would like.

COLLECTION

Classwork is usually ready in 3-5 weeks. We will notify you by email and you can pop by the studio to collect your pieces.

Unfortunately once we have notified you, we can not keep items for longer than two weeks due to limited storage.

This is an advance class , or a build op on Our Touch and Feel Drop In session.

This is intended to anyone who have already been to my workshops in the past and would like to develop their work and confidence further. You do not need to be experienced in large scale building, this is a great introduction to hand building in larger scale and perfect if you’re a complete beginner at large scale but keen to scale your work. –  and if you have some more experience there’s so much to build on. And this Drop In gives you a perfect opportunity to dip in when you feel like returning to the practice and create a new body of work.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this 4 hour workshop you will be shown 2 different hand-building techniques - both are coiling and many tricks and tips on how to make sure the work doesn’t collapse and how to trouble shoot your own mistakes.

We will have 3 hours to really take our time with learning well into foundations  and scaling up of your ceramic pieces.

I will be happy top assist you if you wish to make something that you have an idea for, if it will be doable  - if not I will guide a group into creating something together. Following what I will suggest that is best for the purpose of learning. 

Everyone will be ask to work on their own time, taking breaks where and when they need them

There will be tea and some light snacks provided. 

You are welcome to play and experiment as much as you like within these 4 hours. Then we ask you to choose your favourite 1 large or two medium pieces for us to process for you. We glaze your pieces in our Snow White dipping glaze and fire everything for you. ( if you would like to keep more work we can discuss the fee for additional pieces). there will be also an glazing session available as ADD ON.

This is a 5 week Hand Building Immersion its a step up developed from Our Touch and Feel Drop In sessions. This is a great introduction to hand building with clay and perfect if you’re a complete beginner –  and if you have some more experience there’s so much to build on. And this 5 weeks Immersion will give you a chance to try either different techniques or deepen your knowledge and technique.

WHAT TO EXPECT

 We like to keep classes to a minimum, up to 5/6 people per class, to ensure a relaxing and rewarding experience for all. Keeping classes small means you get a lot of 1:1 tuttoring and you get a lot more from this workshops.

In this 5 session of 2 and a half hour workshop you will be shown many different hand-building techniques pinching, coiling, press moulding, slab building and Kurinuki. You will be given opportunity to wither follow along building a project each week following one of the techniques , or alternatively you can focus on technique and projects you would like to develop confidently and continue working on something over the weeks with my assistance, mentoring and help.

You are welcome to play and experiment as much as you like within these two hours. Then we ask you to choose your favourite two pieces for us to process for you. We will alterate between tapping into drawing in charcoal and than work with brush and paint to tap into learning how to observe and trace and interpretate a different exploring of a female form.

This BODY sessions, are a great introduction to life drawing and perfect if you’re a complete beginner –  and if you have some more experience there’s so much to build on. And this Drop In gives you a perfect opportunity to dip in when you feel like returning to the practice. The work never stops evolving.
